Flippin’ out over here

Diver3

I tried to lighten this picture up, still appears pretty gray….sorry.

In this “contour drawing” stage if you look closely, you can see just how many lines I put down alongside a similar line….then erase.  It’s the only way I know how to do it.  I guess I could grid the picture out first, but I’m not really into making more work for myself.  Especially since these are just for fun.  As I continue there will be more line adjustments, I’m sure….always are.

LoViNg my ipad!! Especially for times like this when I want to pull up my picture (anywhere) and start sketching.

I started to flip out when I saw how small the back circular area is compared to the original.  Too late to go back now, just wish I saw it earlier.  I hope she doesn’t come out deformed, hopefully she’ll just be short-waisted.

Off to tweak my flips, now.

I do not know if my comment was posted. I will repeat myself.

Could you put a team logo on her back "patch". Reminds me of a cooking class I took years ago. I was learning how to make a souffle. "Never call it a souffle until you see what comes out of the oven!"

Seriously, Eden, shouldn't you be psycho cleaning getting ready for the furniture and my arrival?

This is really good, Eden! I think it's great that you are doing this without a grid as the more practise you put in, the better and more precise you will become. I wouldn't worry too much at all about the back size...it still looks great. That's the one reason I would love something like an iPad or laptop....I would be able to open images anywhere which would make sketching so much easier.

I love the way you flesh out small pieces at a time. We can literally see the drawing take on life.

I think she'll be fine. Rather than a size 4; she'll be a 4 petite.

About Me

My photo
By day...I work in the Healthcare field, where every .. i.. has to be dotted and every ..t.. has to be crossed. This blog is the place where I can let myself go and have some fun. I am on a journey. A journey I started a long time ago, but it has been a bit sidetracked with Navy Wife relocations and raising kids. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I have got some time for me. No, I will not be one of those moms walking around the house with Empty Nest Syndrome, I have got way too much to do, to learn, to create. Sure, once the kids are gone I will miss them....but hey, there is always the phone, the email, the texting and the Plane tickets! I love my life and my family and It is fun moving into this new stage. I am into Digital Scrapbooking, photography, journaling, Art Journaling and Drawing. I am a do-it-yourselfer and I am trying to teach myself to draw. I am finding that it takes a lot of patience, lots of practice and a good eraser! And if you're really curious there's a 3 part Interview by Eileen: HERE All the best, Eden
