Pixie Princess……collaboration with Janet

My bloggie-bud Janet (at JKBees) draws the prettiest girls.

She knows how much I wanted to color them in… so….she emailed me three pixie girls to colorize!!

I printed them out on watercolor paper.  I’ve never done this before and wasn’t sure how my printer would apply the ink.  But as you can see there were no worries in the printing department.

Since I’m working on such a big piece (Horse Racing drawing at 30’ x 40’), it’s so refreshing to work on a portable project.

Ran into a small problem though…..I water-colored the face, but apparently my ink jet printer isn’t using waterproof ink…..joy!!

Hmmm.... can you even buy waterproof ink for the printer?? I just printed out a feather i sketched onto cardstock and i'am coloring it with colored pencils. So glad i didn't use the water colors that crossed my mind.....

This pixie girl is just lovely. What a wonderful collaboration!! Hugs! deb

I can honestly say my Pixie Girl never looked better! You did an amazing job of adding color. This is a fun collaboration for me, too... getting to see what someone else sees in my drawings. Thank you!!!!!

Janet's lovely drawing and your amazing color - wonderful collaboration! I think the bleeding ink just added to the depth of the face (and I wouldn't have noticed it, if you didn't point it out). She is beautiful!

Oh, this is great! I didn't think anyone had the sense of color Janet had -- but she might have some competition!

By day...I work in the Healthcare field, where every .. i.. has to be dotted and every ..t.. has to be crossed. This blog is the place where I can let myself go and have some fun. I am on a journey. A journey I started a long time ago, but it has been a bit sidetracked with Navy Wife relocations and raising kids. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I have got some time for me. No, I will not be one of those moms walking around the house with Empty Nest Syndrome, I have got way too much to do, to learn, to create. Sure, once the kids are gone I will miss them....but hey, there is always the phone, the email, the texting and the Plane tickets! I love my life and my family and It is fun moving into this new stage. I am into Digital Scrapbooking, photography, journaling, Art Journaling and Drawing. I am a do-it-yourselfer and I am trying to teach myself to draw. I am finding that it takes a lot of patience, lots of practice and a good eraser!
