Petite Pixie…..drawing by Janet

This is the tiniest of the Pixie girls that Janet drew….hence “Petite Pixie”.

I wish Janet had a few more for me to color!  Haha

This is the colored girl prior to extra embellishment.

If you haven’t tried Sharpie Poster Paints yet (waterbased), ya gotta get yourself a few.  They are very opaque and keep their color even when applied over markers.

What a fun collaboration and I hope to get the chance to do this again.  Thank You Janet, your pixie girls are so beautiful, intricate and unique.  You’ve given me hours of enjoyment Smile

Pretty Pretty Princess….another Pixie of Janet’s

Here’s the 2nd Pixie Girl that Janet graciously allowed me to color.  It’s so nice to doodle with markers in this way.

I find the expression on her face so interesting…is she gonna smile?  Is she happy? Sad?  No clue!

I love the pattern of the bigger squares up there banded together.  Added some petals to make the dots flowers.

I really should’ve added some white reflection to the lips…oh well!

How’s that for a hat??

Thank you, again….Janet, for letting me play this way!

Pixie Princess……collaboration with Janet

My bloggie-bud Janet (at JKBees) draws the prettiest girls.

She knows how much I wanted to color them in… so….she emailed me three pixie girls to colorize!!

I printed them out on watercolor paper.  I’ve never done this before and wasn’t sure how my printer would apply the ink.  But as you can see there were no worries in the printing department.

Since I’m working on such a big piece (Horse Racing drawing at 30’ x 40’), it’s so refreshing to work on a portable project.

Ran into a small problem though…..I water-colored the face, but apparently my ink jet printer isn’t using waterproof ink…..joy!!

Alphabet Doodles…upper Case

This makes me happy!  Really!  I love it when I complete a project or a task!  Love it!

Now on to the lower case.  Wouldn’t these be fun to color in each individual letter with your own color scheme then hang them where you want them?  Spell out a child’s name.  Or a place… “studio”…. “kitchen”…. “bathroom”…??

Where else would these appeal to you?  Ideas? Suggestions? Comments? Criticisms?

I am finding this post quite boring….since it lacks color!  Haha

Alphabet Doodles…half way

When you work in a profession that never closes….and it’s your turn to work the Holiday….and you have to be there at 5 in the morning.  You learn to delay gratification and celebrate on your own time-line.   Just more fun that way!

So, this is the way I spent the last night of the year.  Works for me…for us!  And it’s a good thing I can sleep thru the hooting and hollering that will occur at midnight!  I’ve been known to sleep thru hurricanes as well!

I’ve completed more than half of the alphabet.  If you look closely, you’ll spot the two “H’s”.  I guess I forgot my alphabet song when I got to the K.  So typical!

Hope you all had a nice New Year’s transition, however you chose to spend it.

About Me

My photo
By day...I work in the Healthcare field, where every .. i.. has to be dotted and every ..t.. has to be crossed. This blog is the place where I can let myself go and have some fun. I am on a journey. A journey I started a long time ago, but it has been a bit sidetracked with Navy Wife relocations and raising kids. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I have got some time for me. No, I will not be one of those moms walking around the house with Empty Nest Syndrome, I have got way too much to do, to learn, to create. Sure, once the kids are gone I will miss them....but hey, there is always the phone, the email, the texting and the Plane tickets! I love my life and my family and It is fun moving into this new stage. I am into Digital Scrapbooking, photography, journaling, Art Journaling and Drawing. I am a do-it-yourselfer and I am trying to teach myself to draw. I am finding that it takes a lot of patience, lots of practice and a good eraser!
