Red Fall Leaves

“We learn to be kind, accommodating, and nurturing to others while denying our own thoughts and desires. Creative expression requires just the opposite-----lots of self-nurturing and a willingness to speak our minds.”

We are having gorgeous weather this week! Those days in the upper 60’s and low 70’s with clear skies are my absolute favorite. Went swimming the other day and a friend was out stretching for her run and I told her that it’s days like this that made me wish I was a runner. But only days like this!!! LOL!! Ahhhh, to be out enjoying that weather. I really need an outdoor project other than trimming bushes, pulling up weeds…. I’m a virgo, the Earth sign and you’d think I’d like that sort of stuff.

I looked out my bedroom window this morning and the entire tree was RED! A gorgeous red. I should’ve taken a picture of that, but I wanted to grab a good red leaf and paint it. Here you have it. Simple dots done with my white-pen ink. Still getting to know my brush and ink.

That leaf looks great with the white dots! I never thought of doing anything like that but I may have to give it a try when we finally get some leaves turn color.

I'm a fall weather lover, too. It's always been my favorite time of year. And I'm a Virgo but on the cusp of Libra so I say I'm a Vir-bra!

Very fun! Our maple out front just popped it's color today... dazzling how fast it happens. Love the quote as well.

By day...I work in the Healthcare field, where every .. i.. has to be dotted and every ..t.. has to be crossed. This blog is the place where I can let myself go and have some fun. I am on a journey. A journey I started a long time ago, but it has been a bit sidetracked with Navy Wife relocations and raising kids. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I have got some time for me. No, I will not be one of those moms walking around the house with Empty Nest Syndrome, I have got way too much to do, to learn, to create. Sure, once the kids are gone I will miss them....but hey, there is always the phone, the email, the texting and the Plane tickets! I love my life and my family and It is fun moving into this new stage. I am into Digital Scrapbooking, photography, journaling, Art Journaling and Drawing. I am a do-it-yourselfer and I am trying to teach myself to draw. I am finding that it takes a lot of patience, lots of practice and a good eraser!
