Blog Feedback with a Giveaway!

I was over at Daisy Yellow the other day and she was talking about blogging and why we visit certain blogs, and what we like about them.  Which lead me to do my own little reader survey about Draw, Doodle and Decorate.



So, I’ll start at the beginning with the obvious. 
1-Would you like to see more doodling on this blog?  Zentangles with or without color?



Or…
2- Are you more drawn to the Sketches here.  Do I post too many pictures of the process or not enough?



I could do more with my Doodled Alphabet.  Incorporate a letter or a Word into my posts more often. 
3-Would this be appealing?



Or….
4- Do you like colorful, whimsical and unrealistic type drawings?



I do a few birds a season….
5- Would you like to see more of these?  Less?  Should I offer a black/white coloring book type print made available for your own use?

7- Does the changing of the Blog Header make you dizzy or does it add interest when you stop by?
8- I plan on doing some interviews with other Artists/ Art Journalers.  Would this be of interest?
9- Artsy-type Book Reviews are always fun to read.  I think word of mouth in blog land, can really help a new writer.  Do you buy books after reading a good review?
10-  Product reviews are not my fortee…..I like what I like and tend to stick with what works.  But I love posts where I can see Art studios or Art tools.  Would these types of pictures be inspiring to you?



And now the moment we’ve all been waiting for…

I will give one FULL 40 print Doodle Directory to a RANDOM person who leaves a comment here with a Blog Suggest/Criticism or Insight by midnight EST May 11.  There’s no right or wrong answer, and I’ve developed pretty thick skin over the years.  So, don’t hold back!  Change is good and this is the only way I know how to get you guys to say what you might be thinking.  LOL!!

Facing Forward…..in a coloring book

Right after I outlined my Thanksgiving Bird, I had an idea…..I had to STOP myself from coloring any further.  Because I would love to see how you guys would color this bird in.  I know you are creative!!  And I know you like to draw or doodle or zentangle or embellish or collage or paint (cuz you’re here visiting me). 

So, wouldn’t it be fun to do this on a fixed item and then SHOW us what you did?  I would get such a kick out of seeing your work. 

I think it’s time for a little giveaway too.   (not sure how else to entice you to play along and show me what you can do).  Anyone up for a $5 Starbucks card?   Anyone???

Guidelines:

1. Download the picture by going HERE ……or I can email the image to you.  (It is possible to download from this blog, but the image will be half the size)…..Up to you.
2. Color in HOWEVER YOU DESIRE (with markers, crayons, watercolor pencils, watercolors, acrylics, collage, black and white, zentangle it, doodle it)  ANYTHING GOES!
3. Upon Completion:  take a pic or scan the Thanksgiving Bird then email the  .jpg to elg921(at)yahoo(dot)com
4. I will post the submissions on my blog the day before the GIVEAWAY WINNER is announced
5. Since it’s my contest and I want you to just have fun with it…..I’ll use the Random Generator to pick the winner…….(but you never know if I’ll include an HONORABLE MENTION as well).

a.  If you’d like, you can also comment here and leave a link to your static (Blog) page with the finished image.  BUT, to be included in the contest you must email me the jpg……Sorry, just easier that way :)

b.  Don’t worry I won’t sell your art work to the Paparazzi, Claim it as my own in the book I’m writing, Post it all over facebook with your name attached to it or Sell it to spammers……It’ll will be safe with me….really! LOL!!

Blog GIVEAWAY!!

This is my 150th post!! Wow! I can’t believe it! And to think, I even have a few followers! (Thank You guys, you know who you are).

I thought it would be fun to host a doodle art giveaway. You won’t win a million dollars or a cute art journal kit, sorry! But what I can do is take my doodle alphabet and make a 4x6 print of something similar to the “name” above. The winner can choose any word they want. Your Name, your word for the year, a date, a number…. I’ve found that it’s best to limit the number of characters in your “word” to under 8. That way you can see more of the doodles in the print. I’ve been making these name photos for friends at work since July. It’s been fun!!

All you have to do is answer the following question in a word or two.

What is the first word that comes into your mind when you think of ART?

To be included in the random drawing you have to comment on this post by midnight Sunday 2/28. I’ll randomly pick a name and announce it on my blog Monday 3/1. So, please stop back on the 1st so I can get your address and your word. I will need to snail mail you the print.
