Block Letters…. U.K.J.Y
Ahhh…..what’s there not to like about “U”. Literally and figuratively! You Rock!
And this U Rocks too…why, cuz she’s not afraid to express herself and she uses all the colors.
Then there’s this “K”. I was good and remembered to scan this before coloring in. Which has not been my habit.
I went really swirly with this K. Funny cuz the K is full of perpendicular lines. They balance each other.
And on to the “J”. I like this J, everything about this J. I liked they way she evolved. Just simple parallel lines.
This Jasmine background works too.
And the last letter for today is the “Y”. Just used a standard stencil shape for the interior flower, and grew it from there in freehand.
I was looking for POP…..the pop that only white can bring in. So I had to make the white noticeable….hence the black and white striped background.
I’m pretty stoked….I’ve only got 6 more letters to complete this Block Alphabet!!

Block Letters….W.M.T.X
Here are four more alphabet block letters I’ve recently completed.
I’ve been better at posting my W.I.P. shots on instagram than on here.
I used watercolor for this one, and outlined the brick shapes with my micron pen. Watercolor just makes things interesting.
Unfortunately, I’ve lost a few of my progress shots.
This one was done all in markers.
Personally, I think this “T” looks Terrific
This was simple line work. Just kept changing the direction of the parallel lines.
And….that’s all folks! Hopefully I’ll have some extra progress shots next time

About Me

- By day...I work in the Healthcare field, where every .. i.. has to be dotted and every ..t.. has to be crossed. This blog is the place where I can let myself go and have some fun. I am on a journey. A journey I started a long time ago, but it has been a bit sidetracked with Navy Wife relocations and raising kids. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I have got some time for me. No, I will not be one of those moms walking around the house with Empty Nest Syndrome, I have got way too much to do, to learn, to create. Sure, once the kids are gone I will miss them....but hey, there is always the phone, the email, the texting and the Plane tickets! I love my life and my family and It is fun moving into this new stage. I am into Digital Scrapbooking, photography, journaling, Art Journaling and Drawing. I am a do-it-yourselfer and I am trying to teach myself to draw. I am finding that it takes a lot of patience, lots of practice and a good eraser!
