Not much time for art these days, so I did what I do when I’m time-challenged.
Grabbed my square watercolor paper and started stenciling on it. Then watercoloring via w/c pencils.
Something needed to be done with all that white space….looked like a good place to get some font practice in.
Pulled up some of my favorite Art Quotes to write in those areas.
Used some of my new Stabilo fine point markers for the floral areas.
Just coloring fun here,
and here,
and here.
Had to go back and re-apply the black outlines cuz the watercolor will overlay on the lines and dull….them….down.

ReplyDeleteAmazing! Very inspiring and brillant colors! Chapeau! greetz from Holland :-)
ReplyDeleteThe finished piece is great! How did you put the design together? Do you do the flower art first and then apply the stencil, erasing out the flower part that isn't needed, or do you put the stencil down first and then add the art into the space?
ReplyDeleteThank you @Lisa and @Ellen
ReplyDelete@Diane to answer your question, I put the swirl stencil down first then I had another flower stencil that I put down in the background areas of the swirl. Hope this helps and Thanks for commenting and your interest!!
This is really nice, helped brighten my day. Nice to see what those markers can do. I recently bought some too and have enjoyed them so far.
