Reflection…..my take is totally different than Chel’s take (as it should be). I was a bit stumped, cuz this is a rather boring picture. But it’s the only one I could come up with, using the props I have on hand.
My favorite time to REFLECT is in the morning, but scratch that idea if I work that day. But really… I can write just about anywhere at anytime….it helps to get rid of the junk floating around up there! Been journaling almost my entire life. I’m a firm believer in understanding yourself and the cathartic benefits of letting it all hang out. I also think I’m a kinetic person, I need to DO things. I learn best if I’m not so passive, this is somewhat active and the only skill it requires is honesty. I really like this book “The New Diary”, I liked it so much I bought it a second time. Seriously! Not a proud moment when I realized this. More like a duh moment!! LOL!

Silver….the word of the week, and with two completely different takes. That’s the entertaining aspect of these diptych’s. Our personalities push their way into our picture selection! At least for me….
I am NOT a jewelry connoisseur, not at all. I have a tendency to lose or break the finer stuff. Just by being around kids and dogs. So, I opted to only wear the basics. These silver teardrop earrings are my go-to earrings these days. I used to be all about gold and diamond studs….but not anymore. Sometimes it’s just plain fun to be a girl!!
I adore Chel’s picture above. We’ve got to stop by Wild & Precious life to find out why she chose that shot.
Time was our word this week. So obvious and yet, I didn’t want to click a pic of a clock. The option of going to “Cheeseburger in Paradise” where all the clocks on the wall mentioned that it’s 5 o’clock somewhere was appealing, I must admit.
My picture was taken on vacation last week….yep, you’ll find me and book along side water on most of my beach-y holidays. If I’d have thought of it, I would’ve snapped this pic while I was beach side for the hour plus out there that day…..you see, the wind had a bit of chill to it, and it’s always windier at the beach. Following my hedonistic instinct, I could only take so much…..off I went to the pool, where the wind was blocked and the jacuzzi was just 3 feet away.
Chel, took the top picture. We have to stop by Wild and Precious life for her take on Time.
P.S. The book I’m reading is “Cutting for Stone”, I tried to read this last August and couldn’t stand it, glad I gave it another go. Surprisingly, a really good read!
I probably should start this post with a WARNING Sign, because opinions will be expressed. But it’s my blog and it’s just my opinion. One opinion among billions!
But before I get ahead of myself, I’ll show you my usual step-by-step drawing process.
Just three young birds doing their thing. But I think the baseball player is trying to get a game up.
Brought in those wonderful watercolor pencils for the green wall, the blue sky seen through the window and the blonde girl.
Turn me off… Think for yourself. Just the facts m’am – just the facts. These people aren’t real, the lives you see here are an illusion. Go do something…Anything….read, write, draw, dance, sing or play. Your options are limitless. Don’t succumb to the mistrust, envy and greed that this breeds. And often it all starts with the commercials!
There I said it! Now you know my opinion about TV. Don’t get me wrong, I watch TV, and we’ve got 4-5 of them in our house. And I thank my lucky stars that I stopped being glued-to-the-tube at an early age, for reasons I won’t go into here. And it’s pretty rare that I’ll sit down and watch a show alone. Just my way…. just my way. I have to confess, I’m never the first person to know what’s going on in the news, and I rarely remember the names of some of the new stars. I can’t recognize a mature face that started out as a child actor. I’m a sucker and completely gullible when I watch TV. I believe so much of what I see. So, for me….I’ve got to prevent the drama from creeping into my life from the tube. I don’t much care for any Soap Operas, American Idol, or Dancing with the Stars. But if there’s a mystery on, or a lifetime mini-series….I’ve been known to take a peek. Usually I’m not in control of the remote, and I’ve fallen in love with the “go back” DVR button when I am. Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a “go back” button in real life?
Fin-A-Lly….finally Spring Break time!! What a l.o.n.g. winter this has been. But we survived! And now it’s time for some much needed rest and beach time. No big plans once there, just going with the flow. My favorite way to vacate. How about you?
Have a nice week yourself. I’ll see you on the other side.
