I'm thinking…… it’s time for a Giveaway!

image

Since these are by far the most popular things on my blog, I thought it would be fun to share my little 4x6 index prints of my Doodle Directory.  There are 22 prints in all.  Yep, Twenty-two!!  So that’s 22 times 8 which means you’d get 176 doodles…..wait, I totally flubbed one, so it’s more like 175 doodle designs.   How’s that sound?  Anyone interested?

Here’s the deal:
  1. Just leave a comment by Monday January 17 midnight
  2. If you feel so inclined….Please leave a number……the number would be what you think would be a fair price for a set of these prints…..(IF I were to open an etsy shop or something)
  3. I’ll randomly pick someone that leaves a comment
  4. Sorry…..Giveaway only open to people with a US snail mail address.
image

Trust me….I’ll be referring to my little stack of 22 when I need inspiration on my doodle below.

What is it about doodling that makes it so fun?  Does it bring back memories for you of sitting in class listening to another boring lecture???? (talking junior high or high school here, no way would I doodle in college….when you pay to learn….it’s best to learn!)  Do you find you’ve solved a problem after a doodle session?

Thanks for playing along, you fellow doodler’s!

  2. $22.95
The packaging would make all the difference in this product. Also, the size. I think that this product could be marketed at several price points. My guess would be for a simple presentation, possibly in a little knit see-thru bag?

  3. Count me in! I always need inspiration! :) Price....I'm so bad about that myself. I guess it would depend on what they were printed on and how they were presented. Ball Park? $14.95.......?

  4. When it comes to pricing, you're asking the wrong person here! Maybe somewhere in the $15 - $20 range depending on size.

Whatever the price, it's an incredible collection of ideas and would be a welcome tool in my studio!

  5. I'm in.

I have to admit- I always look for things around $10 when I purchase books supplies, etc.. I don't think it's a FAIR price for you, but that's sort of my "go and ahead and buy it without thinking twice" price on anything crafty. I think it would be amazing if you put them on a binder ring so people could simply flip through the pages for a shot of inspiration- it would look lovely hanging from a hook in the studio (or anywhere around the house!)

  7. Probably around $18, maybe. Hard to say - so pretty! :)

  9. What a wonderful giveaway!
I am totally the wrong person to ask about price....I have the hardest time trying to find a good balance between being affordable for the customer and being fair to myself for the hard work that goes in to the item....that said, I would say around $20 (and in all honesty, I think they're worth more!)

Thanks for the wonderful opportunity to own some of you awesome work!

  10. I've been lurking in the shadows, but am a follower. LOVE your work and LOVE this gorgeous set of cards. Thank you for an opportunity to win this fantastic art tool!!! In my estimation $20-25 dollars would be a fair price, although I must admit - they ARE "priceless"!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  11. I have been following your blog for a little over a month and love it. You have rekindled my love for art and inspired me to start my own doodle directory. Your work truly is priceless because it is part of yourself. I do think the above recommendations are probably what people would pay though.

  12. Awesome work! I just found your blog today. I love that you brought up doodling as "problem solving" because it so is.

These puppies are so inspiring, I would def. pay $12-$15 for them. Well, if I had $12-$15 to spare. Here's hoping I'm on the short list to win them anyway ;) ;)

  13. These are so cute. I'm not sure about a price though. I love the bright colors and all the cute ideas. I might even consider framing them.

  14. Great Giveaway Eden, Oh I guess I'd go along with most and say 20.00. They really are nicely done.

  15. I'm in! New to zentangling and could always use a bit of inspiration when I feel I've hit a brick wall. Would gladly pay over $10 for these. They're wonderful!

  17. I think you might have something here! You need to expand and market these, girl....like NOW!! Even kids would love a set of those and parents would relish the peace and quiet from kids just zoning out drawing. Awesome! Etsy, phooey! Art stores, colleges, Michaels, Joanns....the list is endless! Bravo to you for your inventiveness!

  18. Your colorful, bright, and interesting designs and doodles always make me smile. Thanks for the opportunity to try to win them!

I think $15-$20 would be a fair price (they're prints, right, not the originals?). Or, as someone suggested, $1 a card.

    Thanks, Eden!

  20. I love your doodles! $20 would make me happy

  21. Wow...hard to put a price on something that makes me this happy, but on Etsy...maybe $20...that's less than $1 a card...a bargain, but a great price point for buyers...thanks for the chance to win...I heart these very much and could use the help with my doodling...hugs!

  22. OK, I know as an expat I don't qualify for the prize. (And I've never colored one of your birds!) but I love your use of color and you modesty....I think your site is wonderful! I think you should consider having a book made and selling it. Self-published books are easy to do now and this would be a wonderful resource of all sorts of artists. I'd certainly buy it! I have a clay artist friend who sells her How To books for $9. She sells lots and I think the low price makes people think they are getting a real deal. As a friend says, "I'd pay that much to watch flies......" So, cheap and lots or expensive and few?

  23. I am very new to zentangling (the last month), and am still overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone sharing so freely. I didn't think I could draw a circle or straight line without a tool or ruler. Who knew doodling would be such a wonderful art. As many said above, priceless! Your work inspires me. I would gladly pay $1.00 a card.
I am obsessed with trying to finish a tile every other day.

Boy, after reading all the comments, how do you pick a winner?
I've just come upon this "blog" thing very recently, especially artsy hand-drawn blogs and I absolutely love your site. You have so inspired me to teach doodling to a group of homeschoolers and also to doodle a bit everyday. God has truly given you a talent. I love your "Flip-flop" piece and "Incognito" piece. You have inspired me to keep an art journal for this new year of 2011. As to the price of your "Doodle Directory" - I think I would pay $25-$30 for some artsy inspiration. I would love to show my co-op homeschoolers art class your "Doodle Directory"!!! The Lord bless you and keep you well!

  25. Love these-
    around $22.00?
does this mean an etsy shop is in your future....
    that would be great.
I'd love to see a poster of these doodles (@18" x 24") just to give you something to think about for your shop...

  26. I would say 14.99 plus shipping. And I like the comment about a poster. That would be great - a big mosiac poster of the doodles to hang on the wall. What an inspirational piece it would be.

  30. As artist we have one price in mind or what we'd like our art work to sell for; but the reality is people are always looking for a bargain. Your doodle dictionary is very colorful and a wonderful tool. I'd say $10 to $15.

  31. Those would be great to have! I'd pay between $10-15.

Your work is doodliscious....and yes, I think there is much soothing therapy to be had during a simple creative session! It really gives you time to think...and figure things out.....

you should open up your own Etsy shop..it really is tremendous fun to sell your creations to so many different parts of the world! maybe even Canada!

  35. They're lovely, Eden. I'd say $20 to $25. The package should include ideas of what people might do with them. You might even be able to up the price with that.

  36. Hi Eden,
I love your blog. I've been following it for almost a year now. I discovered you through the Daisy Yellow blog (another very cool blog). Your blog actually inspired me to participate in the Sketchbook Project. Thank you. I've never done anything where it was garrunteed that the public wouldn't see it. I was scared, but I think people need to step outside their confort box to grow. Oops! Sorry for rambling. As far as your doodle book goes, please enter me into the drawing. How much should you charge? I'm not sure about that, but initially I was thinking $10 to $15. Thanks, Natalie aka Indigo
